2025 SCHOOL COUNCIL

The first School Council meeting of 2024 took place last Tuesday. Our Council consists of three staff members, myself, and nine parents. We warmly welcome new members Mrs Heard, Mr Verbree and Mr Pinto, alongside returning members Mrs Ayton, Mrs Fisher, Mrs Hartley, Mrs Defanis, Mrs Kupinic, Miss Munforte, Mr Tanner, and Mrs Bullen.

Congratulations to our newly elected executive team:

  • President: Mrs Kupinic

  • Vice President: Mr Tanner

  • Treasurer: Mrs Fisher

  • Minute Secretary: Mrs Bullen

Councilors will participate in either the Facilities/Master Plan or Education Subcommittees, which are also open to interested staff and parents outside the Council.

Our next meeting is on Tuesday, May 20. In the next newsletter, we will introduce the council members and include their photos so the community can easily recognise them.

HARMONY DAY

POPS Harmony Day is happening on Monday, March 24! Students are encouraged to celebrate by wearing a costume that represents their culture, the colours of their national flag, or something orange.

Harmony Day is all about promoting inclusion, respecting diversity, and appreciating the unique and valuable contributions of every individual in our community.

As part of the celebration, our Year 6 leaders will host a Poppy Tribes session. Poppy Tribes bring students together in multi-age groups to explore our school values and develop important civics and citizenship skills through engaging discussions and activities.

We look forward to a fantastic day of learning, connection, and celebration of the diversity in our community!

SICK BAY ON COMPASS TRIAL

We are trialing the Sickbay Chronicle Module on Compass to improve sickbay management. This feature allows us to track student check-ins and check-outs, record ailments, and streamline attendance updates.

If your child receives minor first aid, you will be notified via Compass. For serious injuries, we will contact you directly by phone.

Please inform the office if you notice anything unusual during the trial period. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.
