School Saving Bonus Reminder & Allocation to School Activities

The Victorian Government has delivered the School Saving Bonus (SSB) – a one-off support of $400 for eligible government school students from Prep to Year 12 in 2025.

The SSB can be used for uniforms until Monday, 30 June 2025.

Any funds remaining after 30 June 2025, including online voucher amounts that have not been redeemed, will become a credit to use on school activities. However, the credit will not be available on your family account at our school until late July. To use any remaining SSB funds to cover the cost of school activities in July, please refer to the SSB online system and allocate the funds to school activities before 30 June 2025.

The Department of Education’s SSB contact centre will remain available until 30 June 2025. The contact centre can be reached by completing the School Saving Bonus enquiry form or calling 1800 338 663, between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on weekdays.

After this date, don't hesitate to contact our administration team for any SSB-related questions.

Semester Reports

Semester 1 Reports will be available on Compass at 4 pm on Monday 30th of June

These reports provide a detailed breakdown of student performance in each subject over the semester.

Student Attitudes to School

Each year, the Department of Education asks students to complete the annual ‘Attitude to School Survey’. This is an anonymous survey all students in Years 4-6 complete where they get to share their thoughts and feelings about a number of important aspects of their schooling. There are twenty ‘factors’ the Department of Education monitor and compare to both ‘similar schools’ and all schools in the state.

These surveys were conducted this week and we will receive the results later this year.

This is just another way we are able to listen to feedback from our students and plan for  improvements.

Below is a snip it of last year's results, where students were asked their perceptions of Effective Classroom Behaviour in our school. At the top it shows our comparison to other schools and the State. Then our actual responses to different factors in the middle. At the end it shows our school's pleasing/positive upwards trend over the past few years.

Sporting Achievements

On the weekend two of our Year 5 students, Charlotte and Aiden, competed at the National Junior Classic in basketball.

Charlotte's team (U12 girls) were undefeated and were crowned Champions - the top U12 girls team in the country! What an amazing achievement.

Aiden's team (U12 Boys) won 4 out of the 6 games and are now the 4th U12 boys team in the in the country. Another great achievement.

Office Hours

Our school office is open between 8:30am - 4pm, from Monday -  Friday in the school terms.

If you work late, struggle with the traffic or are needing occasional assistance with after hours supervision, please enrol your child in with TeamKids

Our office staff are not available for student supervision before or after our school hours.

Respectful Behaviours

When parents, carers and school staff work together as one team, our students thrive. Everyone at school, particularly staff and parents and carers, play a role in making school a better place for learning and work.

Parents, carers and school staff have a relationship that can last many years. This is an opportunity to work together to create a positive relationship in the best interests of your child. When this relationship is built on respect and trust, students learn better and feel like they belong in the school.

You may have noticed new posters displayed in our school that depict some unacceptable

behaviours which can negatively impact our school community. These posters are a visual reminder about the behaviour that does not help us create a safe, respectful and inclusive learning environment for students, staff and adults. I trust that you will continue to keep respect at the core of all interactions with school staff.

The Department of Education’s Respectful Behaviours within the School Community Policy describes the positive behaviour expected from parents, carers and other adults in Victorian school communities. The policy sets clear standards of behaviour to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for students, staff and adults.

There are also resources to support safe and respectful relationships in our school community, including information about getting involved in the school, advice on how to raise a concern or complaint, and parenting support resources. To view the policy and these resources, refer to Building a positive relationship with your child's school.

For more information on how to engage positively with our school, please contact our front office.

Every Day Counts

At Clyde PS, we prioritise regular school attendance. We will work with our families to ensure students are in class with their peers and teachers and enjoying all the benefits that brings.

Attending school every day means experiencing what counts – the learning, friendship, fun and opportunities that can shape your child’s future.

I understand that there are times when your child will need to miss school but to ensure minimal disruption to their education, please consider scheduling family holidays or medical/dental appointments outside of school time. If your child is well enough to attend but is worried about friendships or school work please encourage them to come to school. Avoiding school can make these feelings worse and can create a negative pattern of behaviour.

If your child is having difficulty attending school, talk to their teacher orMr Russell/Mrs Taylor about getting support.

I know that parents and carers can sometimes be juggling challenges daily to get your children to school. If your child must miss school, notify us as soon as possible via Compass so we can work together to support them.

For more information about the importance of everyday attendance, see Attendance and Missing School.

Remember, Every Day Counts.

Updating Contact Details

To update a change of address or family living arrangements, please send an email to the school via clyde.ps@education.vic.gov.au or come in to the office to sign a copy of your changed details.

Having the most accurate living arrangements and contact details allows our school to care for your child to our best.

Student Lost Property

During winter, we have had an influx of lost property that has been located throughout the school.  To assist staff with returning items that may have been left behind in class, we strongly advise families to ensure the student name has been written on the tag so we may return lost items to the rightful owner.  Any items that are found without a name will be kept until the end of term and if unclaimed, will then be donated or sold for a donation

Camp Lost Property

The below belongings have been waiting in the office since the Year 5/6 Camp. Please collect them as soon as possible.
