Arts and LOTE

Art Beat
What a whirlwind of a term! Our esteemed Cultural Captains did a fantastic job of organising/co-organising some Harmony Week activities, including Jam at the Junction, and the Maori art mural (where a student discussed the culture behind his artwork, and other students coloured copies to be displayed together).
Jam at the Junction saw a number of acts that we don’t regularly experience, from a rock show, to a flute rendition, a drum solo, and the classic acoustic guitar and singer soloists. Paired with the ice coffee fundraiser and a seemingly endless swathe of little people visiting a high school for their first time, the vibe was unmatched.
Our Cultural Captains have plenty more activities planned for the remainder of the year, so keep your ear to the ground about upcoming contests, events, and performances.
Musical Update
Matilda Jr. is shaping up to be one absolutely spectacular performance. The level of dedication shown by both the staff involved and the students in the cast has been an uplifting experience for everyone who has walked through that space. The level of musicality and stage craft shown in learning the songs has been second to none.
Massive shout out to Miss Kitchiner, Mrs Malcolm, Miss Petersen and Ms Sugars for all the passion they have poured into this production so far. Throughout next term, you will see our advertising ramp up, so watch this space!
