Colour Fun Run @ Albany Rise Primary School - Foundation 2026 open invitation
Our Annual Colour Fun Run is an opportunity for all members of our current and future school community to come together had have some 'messy' fun. Families with children commencing Foundation in 2026 are warmly invited to come and visit our play based learning space on Friday 28th March, then join in the school annual Colour Fun Run.
The event is followed by a Parent's Association BBQ- all welcome!

Times: Foundation 2026 Open afternoon commences 3.45pm, Colour Fun Run commences 4.00-4.15pm, BBQ commences 5.15-5.30pm

Enrolling 2026
An online process for enrolling Foundation students is now in place for our school region. The process ensures equitable access to all government primary schools, and directs families to access their local government school as a first priority. Parents due to enrol students for 2026 can access the updated enrolment process information here: https://www2.education.vic.gov.au/pal/enrolment/guidance/foundation-prep-enrolment
Primary schools are required to implement the timeline in 2025 to support Foundation enrolments for the 2026 school year.
Key dates and activities for schools in the 2025–26 timeline include the following:
- Schools can receive enrolment applications from parents and carers from the start of Term 2, 2025. This follows the release of 2026 zones on the department’s Find my School website and the publication of Foundation enrolment information packs.
- Enrolment applications from parents and carers are to be submitted by Friday 25 July 2025.
- Schools notify parents and carers of the outcome of enrolment applications between Monday 28 July and Friday 8 August 2025.
Year 6-7 Transition 2026
Moving from a government primary school to a government secondary school:
If your child is seeking a place in Year 7 at a secondary school next year, you will need to:
- download the information pack available from the start of Term 2, 2025. The pack includes the application form. Our school may also give you a copy of the pack.
- use Find my School to locate your local secondary school or preferred school, and read about School zones and Enrolling in school.
- complete the application form and return it to your child's primary school by Friday 9 May 2025.
Year 7 placement is decided by secondary schools using the Department’s Placement Policy. However, all communication about your child's placement must be with the Year 6 Coordinator or Transition Coordinator at our school until the placement is confirmed.
You will receive notification of your child's Year 7 placement offer on Tuesday 1 July 2025.
All government secondary schools will host a Year 7 Orientation Day (for Year 6 students) on Tuesday 9 December 2025.

School tours occur every Thursday at 10.30am (not during holiday periods). Contact the office to book or for an alternative time.
