News From Mr Smith

Dear School Community Members,
It is hard to believe Term 1 is coming to an end! This provides us with an opportunity to reflect on the achievements our school and students have accomplished this term, as well as ensure we are well placed to achieve our vision of maximising the learning and wellbeing outcomes for every student at Manifold Heights PS.
Thank you to all students, families and staff for your contribution to Term 1 being so productive and focussed on our core business of maximising outcomes for each student.
Mano is a great place to be!: This morning, I had the opportunity to join the Grade 3 Learning Community on their excursion to explore different elements of our local community, as part of their Inquiry Learning Unit focussed on, ‘What is a Community?’
Whilst there was much learning that compliments the learning our Grade 3 students have engaged in throughout Term 1, I came away from this time with the Grade 3 Learning Community with immense pride. Our students and staff displayed our school values of Respect, Responsibility and Safety, incredible manners were on display and a keen sense of fun was evident. I congratulate our Grade 3 students and staff for being wonderful ambassadors of our school. Mano is a great place to be!

We look forward to hearing about the wonderful adventures upon their return tomorrow afternoon. I acknowledge and thank our committed staff who have ventured off on camp with our Grade 4 students – their planning, preparation, care and sense of fun has ensured a great time for all. I also thank our parent volunteers – Brendan Williams, Megan Gerring and Rowan Hutchinson.
End of Term Arrangements: Tomorrow is our last day of Term 1. Please note, students will be dismissed from school at 2:30pm this afternoon. After School Care will begin at 2:30pm.
