New Arrivals

Over this term, the Library team, with support from our student volunteers, has been working hard to catalogue and distribute our new books and Teacher Resources.

Scholastic Book Club

We are currently awaiting the next delivery from Book Club. Once it arrives, all orders will be distributed to classrooms.

If any of your orders are intended as gifts, please let us know in advance so we can notify you upon arrival and arrange an alternative collection or delivery method. You can contact us at library@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au.

Resource Centre Committee

Over the past fortnight, we shared a communication outlining the various Co-Curricular activities available at our school. Among these was information about the Resource Centre Committee.

We warmly welcome students from Years 4–12 to join the committee and help plan lunchtime activities, events and other exciting initiatives.

The committee meets every Monday at lunchtime in RC2 (Computer Lab). We’d love to see you there!

Premier's Reading Challenge

The challenge begins on February 24th.

The challenge closes on August 22nd.

The Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) is upon us again.

URGENT NOTE: All students who want to complete the Challenge must register by the 31st of March.

Previous Participants:

All students who participated will need to visit Ms Height to receive their new passwords. The Premiers Reading Challenge administration has reset all passwords for students at independent schools for 2025.

There are two ways you can receive your child’s new password:

  • Ms Height will write the username and password in your child’s diary.
  • Ms Height will respond to parent emails with your child(ren)’s username and password. If you haven’t received a reply yet, please contact us again, and we will ensure the information is sent to you.

If your child is new to the challenge, they can join by:

  • contacting the Library staff via library@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au
  • asking their teacher to write a note in their diary, which can then be passed on to the Library staff
  • letting your child's teacher know via diary, and they can pass this on to the Library Staff

If you would like to begin locating books for your child/ren to read for the challenge, please take time to preview some of the lists that have been created on the website: https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/booklist/home.html

Please see the website for further details: https://online.det.nsw.edu.au/prc/home.html

Borrowing and Returns

Students may borrow and return books before school, recess, lunchtime and after school. Primary School students also have the chance to borrow books during their fortnightly Library lessons.

Borrowing Permissions

If students are requesting to borrow books above their age level, we request parents to write a letter regarding their permission for their child to borrow and read a specific book which will be reviewed by library staff.

Renewals

Students are able to re-borrow books for an additional two weeks by speaking to staff at the Library Circulation Desk. If further borrowing is requested after this, students are required to bring their book/s with them to allow the staff to see the book. In addition, students can renew their book/s by emailing the Library.

Requests

If your child would like to borrow a specific book and the title is not included in our current catalogue, we will add this to our purchase wishlist.

Overdue notices

If you receive an overdue notice, there is a chance that the books may have been processed through our system after the email was sent. We encourage all parents to follow up on any issues by emailing the Resource Centre at library@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au

If you have any other enquiries, issues or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us via phone by ringing the main office or via email address library@moamagrammar.nsw.edu.au

Keep reading everyone!
