Foundation

The foundation students have finished their unit "on the move" and they have made constructions that push/pull/roll/spin and drawn their friend playing on the playground and what movement they were doing.

1/2s

The 1/2s have finished their unit on "Changes all around". They have looked at the nature in their yard and discussed the changes that happens around the year. They played a recycling activity and found out how long certain objects take to brake down in the environment.

Art

American/Ukranian artist, Louise Nevelson was the Year 5/6 students' inspiration when creating their abstract sculptures or 'assemblages'. As you can see, a variety of materials were assembled, glued and spray painted. Don't they look effective?

Take a look at all of them in the gallery next term.

Students in Prep to 2 have been exploring shape and the technique of collage (drawing with scissors!)

P/1A students created bugs and insects with geometric shapes, aren't they cute?

Stay tuned for the 1/2 Symmetrical Bug Collages... they are a work in progress!

Year 3/4 students have also been hard at work in the art room over the past few weeks.

They have been exploring threads and textiles and used a running stitch or backstitch around a paper pattern of an Australian animal on hessian. These were then stuffed and coloured with chalk pastels before mounted on a background of their habitat. I'm most impressed with their sewing skills. What do you think?
