Principal's Update

End of Term 1
We have had a fun, busy end to our first Term of 2025!
Our Grade 3-6 students all went to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show - where we potted a bulb, and lemon grass or bok choy! We also found our Scarecrow George and we made seed bombs at the Beyond Blue stall.
Our students were particularly interested in every aspect of the show due to their keen interest in the Stephanie Alexander Program at school.
Tree Tops excursion:
In line with the Inqusitive minds topic of Geography we all went to Belgrave to the Tree tops high ropes activity centre! I was amazed by the resilience of our students and the way they wanted to challenge themselves on the different ropes courses. We enjoyed a picnic lunch at a local playground near the lake and some students waved as Puffing billy passed.
Responsible Pets Incursion
We had a visit of a beautiful dog, and her owner last week to teach us how to be responsible pet owners and what pets need as well as the 'do's and don'ts' around dogs.
Ask your children how to approach dogs safely as well as reading the flyer that was sent home.
Here are the children enjoying the visit.
AUSSIE OF THE MONTH:
Congratulations to ZAARA F who has received our March Aussie of the month Award!
Congratulations to Annabelle for wining our Easter Colouring Competition.
COLOUR FUN RUN:
Thank you so much to every single person who was involved in our Colour Fun Run! It is always a highlight on our calendar.
I think I have nearly got all the slime colouring out of my hair.
It is such a great event and how lucky were we to have the Fire Brigade come along to support and squirt us all and Eden Foster to kick off the event!
To make you smile
Happy birthday to these 2 legends:
Zach was very busy dancing up a storm while we sang and Reet was so embarassed!
I wish you all a very happy and safe holiday and Easter break . We look forward to seeing you back at WMPS for lots of fun and learning in Term 2.
Take care and be kind always,
Meredith Thornton
