Lent, Holy Week & Easter

It is a strange end of first term at COHR this year, with no Holy Week Liturgy. We are still in the second last week of Lent, Palm Sunday the beginning of Holy Week is the middle weekend of the holidays and Easter is the final weekend. So now it is still the church season where we are fasting, praying and almsgiving. So to finish with our Caritas Donate a Dollar Day, where we are colecting to support the work of Caritas Australia, is more fitting.

We will celebrate Holy Week and Easter Sunday as a whole school on the first day back, Tuesday 22nd of April at 2:50pm in the Hall. Here we will take time to share the story of Jesus' journey into Jerusalem, the events of the Last Supper, His crucifixtion, the waiting for three days until the glory of Jesus Christ rising from the dead on Easter Sunday. Parents are very welcome to come and join us for this special liturgy.

Please see attached the Holy Week Mass timetable for the Oakleigh Parishes.

Finally, a note of thanks for the COHR support for Caritas over this Lenten time. In the foyer there is graph of how much we have raised for each of our events - Zooper Dooper Tuesday, Harmony Day casual clothes and Caritas Donate a Dollar Day. Our final event will be Caritas Day on Wednesday 23rd April, where students are asked to return their Project Compassion box. They can wear casual clothes on this day.

Again thank you for your support, thanks to the studnet Mini Vinnies team for all they have done too.

Take care and find time to pause and pray,

Jo Cowan
