NCIS in Action: Learning, Exploring, and Having Fun!

The NCIS (Navigate, Connect, Ignite, Succeed) program is designed to support and inspire our junior students through a well-rounded blend of life skills, social development, and academic enrichment.

Term 1 has been an exciting and productive time for our NCIS students! They have been working hard across multiple subjects while also taking part in a variety of engaging and challenging activities.

In literacy, students focused on writing short answer responses and applying their skills to resumé writing. In numeracy, they explored adding and subtracting fractions and were introduced to probability. It has been fantastic to see our Year 8 students stepping up, improving their communication, and supporting one another in their learning.

Beyond the classroom, students have been honing their life skills in the kitchen, whipping up delicious meals such as carbonara, beef stir-fry, bacon and egg rolls, and chicken burgers. They have embraced teamwork, ensuring both cooking and cleaning duties were completed efficiently.

The NCIS program also provided exciting opportunities for physical activity. Students took to the skatepark to showcase their best tricks, challenged themselves on the rock-climbing wall, and built strength and coordination through gymnastics. Their enthusiasm and determination have been truly inspiring!

With so many enriching experiences, Term 1 has been filled with growth, teamwork, and plenty of smiles. We look forward to seeing what the rest of the year has in store!
