Wexford Year 5 / 6 - Marine Incursion
On Thursday the 20th of February, Matt from the Marine Mammal Foundation came to the year 5/6 building at Wexford and talked to us about the Bin Not Bay program. He showed us marine mammal fossils and we looked at two types of dolphin bones. We learnt lots of things about sea animals, how they communicate and how plastics harms the sea animals. He showed us dolphins swimming in the sea, and we got to hear the sounds they make. We learnt about how dolphins get notches in their fins from playing with other dolphins and sometimes from boats and the importance of sustainability and putting your rubbish in the bin.

Hendy Year 3 / 4 - Advice from Year 4s to Year 3s about how to do an ERP
It is important to have a title on your poster or presentation, so people know what your ERP is about. You must have the same information as your topic titles. EG diet of a fruit bat - Olivia
Try to learn more about researching on Google. Be brave and present your ERP to the class - Evie
Write your sentences in paragraphs. Check your spelling before you present your ERP. When you research on the internet you need to put it into your own words - Sonni
You search up your topic and you look for information and then you use that for your ERP. Sometimes it is scary to present an ERP, but you just think of something else - Avery
Try to include interesting words and vocab. The Grade 3's could make a plan first and then show the teacher to see if it is ok - Jaelan
First you learn about the topic first, then later in the term you complete an ERP but using all you have learnt - Aurora
More ERP Fun!
Year 5 & 6 Cross Country – A Fantastic Effort!
On 14th March, Year 5 and 6 students laced up their runners and took on the challenge of our annual Cross Country event at the oval behind Tallis. The energy was high as students lined up at the starting line, ready to test their endurance and determination.
The course was bigger and harder than usual, but that didn’t stop our amazing runners from giving it their all. There were smiles, cheers, and plenty of encouragement from friends, teachers, and family.
Congratulations to our top finishers in the Girls Under 11 Category:
🥇 1st place: Molly Wilton
🥈 2nd place: Poppy Andrew
🥉 3rd place: Hams Mohammed
A special shout-out to everyone who participated—you showed fantastic resilience and sportsmanship! Thank you to our teachers and volunteers for organising such a fun and memorable day.
