ANZAC Day in the Art Room
In the last week of term 1, students in Art explored the meaning of ANZAC day. We read stories, talked about the history and shared the poem ‘In Flanders Fields’ by Officer John McCrae. ‘In Flanders fields the poppies grow, between the crosses, row on row…’ The symbol of the red poppy has become an important part of ANZAC day traditions. We use the poppy the remember the sacrifices made by those who have served our country in war and through peacekeeping missions. Our artists across the school have created their own poppies. The effort, care and thought that went into these pieces was inspiring. Please enjoy a small selection of the amazing art that was created for ANZAC day.
