Principal Report

Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I hope our father's and special people in the lives of our students had a wonderful celebratory Sunday. I enjoyed my home-made cards and presents, as well as gifts from the Father's Day stall. I am sure the joy of opening something that you never ever knew you needed brings the same universal smile to every father, grandfather, uncle or special person.
Be Sun Smart
It is starting to feel like spring. The smells are changing, and the sun is trying to make itself welcome. This means we need to start to think about the sun and those old school lessons, Slip, Slop, Slap. Today we will make an exception but from Tuesday 9th September we will be asking all students to wear their hats at play times. Last week was a gentle warm up to the moment it has to happen. Consider starting the routines of adding sunscreen at home. There are sunscreen bottles at the entrance of our main buildings.
Swimming
A big thank you to students, staff and volunteers for making swimming week fun and exciting. When you leave the safety of regular routines for a week of swimming, issues can pop up. I appreciate the heads up on the little, and not so little things, as well as the patience while we work together to offer the best, safest and most affordable week we can. I am glad another year is over, but I urge you to build on the momentum and skills the students have as carers by continuing to educate the students of the joy and risks of water.
Volunteers - Big Thank You
Last week was a bumper week of helpers at school. Beyond the usual reading help and canteen help, we had regular helpers with swimming, book fair, as well as the Father's Day stall. On behalf of all staff, I would like to say a big thank you for your continued efforts.
And lastly, your opinion matters and helps make changes. Please consider sharing 20 minutes of your time to complete the parent survey by 19th September.
Starting a week with a book parade means it is going to be wonderful!
Best wishes,
Craig
