Grade Three

Dear Families,

What a wonderful start to the term we’ve had! The students have engaged in lots of exciting learning experiences. We kicked off the term with our Athletics Carnival, which was a huge success. The sun was shining and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the events.

English

In English, we’ve been focusing on recount writing. The students are learning about structure and language features specific to recounts. To aid in this, the students recently participated in a Super-Happy-Fun Day! On this day the students rotated through three fun activities: ten-pin bowling, biscuit decorating and craft monsters. Afterwards, the students were able to recount the day enthusiastically.

Maths

  • Multiplication & Division – Making connections between these two operations and solving problems.

  • 3D Shapes – Students are learning to name and describe the properties of 3D shapes.

  • Angles – Exploring and identifying angles.

Integrated Studies

Our Integrated unit this term is Social Justice. We’ve had discussions about diversity and inclusivity and how we can use empathy to help us understand the experiences of others. This will then take us to exploring the importance of rules and laws in our community and how these impact us all.
