Year 5/6 Pop Art Creations
Our Year 5/6 students have been diving into the bold, bright, and energetic world of Pop Art, taking inspiration from one of the movement's most iconic figures: Andy Warhol. After exploring Warhol’s famous Campbell’s Soup Cans, students experimented with vivid colours, repeated patterns, and striking contrasts to create their own modern interpretations.
This project has sparked lots of excitement in the classroom. Students have been experimenting with colour combinations, coming up with interesting and hilarious versions of soup, and discovering how Pop Art celebrates the ordinary in extraordinary ways. The process has been both creative and fun, with plenty of laughter and “Wow!” moments as artworks took shape.
We invite you to take a closer look at their incredible creations below. You’ll see just how much personality, imagination, and energy each student has poured into their work.

Book Week 2025
This week, students have enjoyed a variety of fun and adventurous activities to celebrate Book Week.
- The look-and-find activity around the school is back. Students must find a dog figure or a little wooden plane hidden somewhere around the college. All students who find the little toy will get a prize.
- Craft activities in the library at lunchtime.
- The Guess the Book in a Jar Competition, run by the Book Council, involves hiding pages of books in jars. The first correct guess of the book's title wins a prize.
The Adventurous Reading Competition is open to all staff and students. Entrants are required to take a photo of themselves reading a book in an adventurous, unusual, or extreme location or setting and email it to SPLibrary@emmauscc.sa.edu.au.
Entries close today Thursday of week 5 and will be judged tomorrow on Friday of Week 5. We will announce the names of the winners in the following newsletter. So wait for it!
Today (Thursday) all the Junior School Students are being treated with a special guest class hosted by visiting Author/Illustrator Mandy Foot.
Dress Up Day and Parade Tomorrow at 8:50am
All parents are invited to watch the whole school dress up parade on the grassed area.
All students from Foundation to Year 12 are invited to join in the fun. It's a great day to start the day! We hope to see you there!
