South Plympton Campus, Kiss n Go Zone Reminders 👋

We have two ‘Kiss n Go’ zones, which are two-minute zones. These zones are designed to drive in, pick up/drop off and move off. Please do not park here and wait. If your child is not waiting, please go around the block. When pulling into these zones, please move up as far as you can. Parents must remain in the vehicle at all times in these zones. Our zones are on Lynton Avenue and Wheaton Street. The zones are clearly marked with signage on College fences and Council-installed kerb signs, which note the zone times.

The ‘Kiss n Go’ zone times are 8am-9am and 3pm-4pm. The council will issue infringement notices, and the College is unable to waive them.

If your children are able to, could you encourage them to walk along the footpath up to the Wheaton Street area to assist with traffic flow. We have been advised students still feel they cannot walk up to the Wheaton Street area as it is not allowed. Please advise your children it is acceptable to walk to the other Kiss n Go area.

Parking around South Plympton:

Council has encouraged us to communicate some general road etiquette and I have included some links further down which Council have supplied us to share with our community.

  • Do not park across or in driveways—even partially— and avoid leaving your vehicle idle while waiting for your child. This includes pulling in to pick up your child quickly.
  • Refrain from parking on yellow lines or in restricted areas.
  • Maintain proper distance from the pedestrian crossing on Lynton Avenue (you must not park within 10 metres of a crossing; bold white lines indicate this zone).
  • Do not block traffic flow when waiting to get into the 2-minute drop-off/pick-up zone.
  • Be courteous and considerate to our neighbours. We have had reports of our families being verbally disrespectful to our neighbours.
  • Observe all street signage, including the designated Disabled Parking area on Lynton Ave.

YMCA OSHC Program

The YMCA OSHC Program provides after-school and vacation care for students from Foundation to Year 6, conveniently located at both Brooklyn Park and South Plympton Campuses.

At OSHC, we have been discovering different forms of art, including self-portrait painting and clay sculpting. It has been fantastic to see the children putting their creative caps on and thinking outside the box, with some doing abstract paintings and real-life-inspired clay creations of their pets.

Operating hours are:

  • After School Care Monday to Friday | 3:10pm to 6:00pm
  • Vacation Care Monday to Friday | 7.30am to 6:00pm
  • Pupil Free Days | 7.30am to 6:00pm
