Year 2 Excursion - Vaucluse House - Monday 25 August 2025
Year 2 students have been studying ‘Changes in Technology’ as part of their Term 3 History unit of work.
On Monday 25 August, students will take part in an excursion to Vaucluse House. This excursion will concentrate on what life was like, at Vaucluse House, in the 1860s for the Wentworth family and their servants. Working as history detectives, they will investigate the bedrooms, kitchen, drawing room, scullery, and kitchen garden for clues that help them understand how a grand mansion functioned in the 1860s. As well as exploring the house and estate, students will participate in a range of activities to get ‘hands-on’ with the past.
Parents will be forwarded all information over the coming week including uniform requirements as well as a permission slip which must be completed as soon as possible.
