Message from the Principal

Achieving Excellence Together

Dear Families,

LITFEST 25

Some schools have Book Week, but at Albanvale we have LITFEST! I'm looking forward to seeing what books our students have been inspired by to dress up as on Monday, 18 August. At Albanvale Primary School, we continue to show our love of reading and writing throughout the week with the Writers' Festival, Albanvale Spelling Bee and the Albanvale Reading Cafe, open for business on the morning of Friday 22 August.

Importantly, who could forget the High 5 Book Fair, which will be running across the week. Students convert their positive behaviour into high-quality reading material using their High 5 Cards. This week is all about celebrating and instilling a love of literacy in not just our students, but our entire community. I look forward to celebrating with you the week with you.

Enrolments 2026 (All year levels)

With Prep enrolments for 2026 closing, we are now accepting pre-enrolments of students across all other year levels in 2026. Very limited places are available in most year levels, so families are encouraged to submit a pre-enrolment as soon as possible to secure their place. If you know a family who you think would contribute to our community of excellence, encourage them to reach out today to find out more information or arrange a school tour.

Prep 2026 Enrolment Update

Prep 2026 enrolments for 2026 close next week. Any applications received after this date will be subject to the full enrolment policy guidelines. Families considering enrolment for 2026 are encouraged to submit a form online or contact the front office today to ensure they don't miss out.

Students enrolled for Prep next year are also expected to partake in one Headstart lesson each week to support their early literacy and numeracy development, in addition to their readiness for school.

NAPLAN 2026 Results:

Last week, we mentioned the release of individual results for student NAPLAN data and celebrated their fantastic effort. Although in the media there is a lot of discussion on people's perspectives of the assessment, NAPLAN is a powerful tool for schools to measure the impact they are having on student learning and ensure that we are truly striving for our ambition of equity and excellence for every student. Again this year, Albanvale has continued our outstanding success in NAPLAN, scoring above State, Similar and Network School averages in all assessments. This is a reflection of the data teachers collect through student assessments across the year and is a testament to all in our community who truly achieve excellence together. Below are our 2025 NAPLAN results, demonstrating the percentage of students who achieved Exceeding or Strong (at or above the level) in each assessment

Although the above just looks like a group of numbers, what it shows is a truly remarkable achievement that demonstrates yet again the outstanding work of students, teachers and families to achieve excellence together. Congratulations to our students for their exceptional efforts on the assessment. From a whole-school perspective, we will use this information to consider what is working well in our current teaching and identify the next focus for continuous improvement. If you have any questions or want to find out more about the information above, contact our front office, who will put you in touch with our instructional leaders.

GRAND OPENING EVENT - Albanvale PS Hall

It is with great pride that I announce that our community will mark the grand opening of the new Albanvale PS Hall. After 16 weeks of work, our new community space will host its first event at LITFEST, facilitating our Writers Gallery and Spelling Bee Competition. You are invited to come and join us for this historic moment for our community - one that I know many of you, including our APS Alumni, have been looking forward to for many years. Below is a sneak peek of the space

With our attention turning toward our next upgrades to align with our vision of a culture of excellence, it has never been a better time to be at APS.

Thank you for helping us Achieve Excellence, Together.
