From the Principal's Desk

Week 7

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!  Last Thursday was the epiphany of celebration with the conclusion of ACOS with the performance night at ASC. Being able to perform with such amazing facilities was an experience none of our staff and students will ever forget.

After months of rehearsals, all our Public Schools showed off their talents and dedication with an amazing evening showcasing orchestras, choirs with over 400 students in it, Aboriginal and combined dance groups from all schools and individual school items including our very own Monsters and Survivors.

Again a huge shout out to our students for their resilience and persistence, our dedicated staff and our parents who supported it all.  A very special thank you to our coordinators Mrs Townsend, Mrs Clendinning and Miss Randall.

SASS Recognition Week

This week is SASS Recognition Week, and an opportunity to celebrate the essential role school administrative and support staff and other non-teaching staff play in NSW public education.

We are so blessed at MGPS to have Mrs Frost, Mrs Stainton, Miss See, Mrs S, Miss C, Miss G, Miss D and Mr Lockwood to support our students and our school.  Thank you for all that you do. You truly are critical to the smooth running of our school.

Sporting News

Well done to Nixon, who had a great week in Ballina  playing football in the NSW PSSA  football State Championships.

Good luck to all our students who are representing MGPS at the Northwest PSSA Athletics carnival in Tamworth today.

PAX word of the fortnight -  COURAGE

  • Courage is not the absence of fear, but the decision to act despite being afraid, whether it's starting a new school, exploring a new place, or mastering a difficult skill.
  • Parents can be examples of courage by sharing their own experiences of facing fear or doing the right thing.
  • Courage involves confronting challenges and persevering amidst adversity, even when it’s scary to do so.
  • Teaching children to be courageous is important because it makes them more confident, independent, and motivated.
  • Some courage-boosting activities for kids include reading books about brave characters, trying new things, engaging in positive self-talk, and talking about what it means to be brave.

Have a lovely week!
