Pupil Free Day
Please note that tomorrow, Wednesday 13th of August, is a Pupil Free Day.
The focus of the day is Spirituality. The day focuses on the theme Pilgrims of Hope and will be presented online to all staff from Catholic Education Sandhurst. We are delighted to host our friends from St Peter's and Doxa. YMCA OSHC are offering full day care at St Therese's school (Please see their page for details).
Prep – 100 Days Brighter Celebration
Our Prep students recently marked a huge milestone – 100 Days of School – with our 100 Days Brighter Celebration! A huge thank you to Mrs Thompson, Mrs Edwards, and the Prep team for creating such a joyful and memorable day. We also thank our parents and families for embracing the spirit of the day and joining in the fun.
Division Boys and Girls Football
Our boys and girls football teams represented our school with pride at the division level. The boys finished with 3 wins from 6 games, and the girls with 3 wins from 7 – both teams enjoying beautiful weather, great spirit, and plenty of fun.
A big thank you to Mr Hammer for coaching the boys, and Miss McLean, Mrs Pollock, and Tara for leading the girls. We are grateful to all the parents and families who came along to encourage, coach, lead, and keep the teams fuelled – your support makes all the difference! Special thanks to Mrs Vaughan for organising this fantastic opportunity for our students.
Division Boys and Girls Netball
It was an amazing day for our netball teams at division level! The boys won all their games, taking out the Division 2 title, while the girls finished equal first after topping the table – an incredible achievement!
Thank you to Mrs Vaughan and Mrs Williams for their coaching and leadership, and to all our parents and families for their encouragement and support. Another big thank you to Mrs Vaughan for coordinating the day for our students.
Feast of St Mary MacKillop
On 8 August, we celebrated the Feast of St Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first saint and a woman of deep faith and courage who dedicated her life to education and serving the poor. We remembered her message to “never see a need without doing something about it,” reflecting on how we can live out her values in our own school community today.
Grade 4 Assembly
A big congratulations to our Grade 4 students for their outstanding presentation at assembly on the First Fleet and Colonisation of Australia. They spoke and performed with confidence and clarity, sharing what they have learned in an engaging and thoughtful way. Thank you to Miss Flanagan and Miss Caldwell for helping prepare the Grade 4s, and to the many families who came along to support them – it was wonderful to see so many in attendance.
Book Week
We will be having our Book Week dress up day on Friday 22nd August. Students and staff are invited to dress up in their favourite character, based on the theme "Book an Adventure" or wear pjs for the day. At 2 pm 'The Blurbs' will perform a concert in our school hall.
Principal’s Award
Sydney Mertens 5EM nominated by Mr Steve Hammer
Sydney consistently demonstrates respectful and responsible behaviour in all situations. She always responds promptly and appropriately when the music plays, no matter what she is doing or who she is with. Today, in the middle of a large basketball game, Sydney immediately stopped and returned to class as soon as the music began. Her actions set a positive example for her peers and reflect the outstanding attitude she brings to school every day!
Father’s Day Celebration at St Kilian’s
We are looking forward to celebrating the dads and special men in the lives of our students.
Friday 5th September: Breakfast will be served from 8:30 am.
Menu: For dads and special men – Fresh croissants, tea, and coffee
For children – Toast with jam or Vegemite, fresh fruit, and juice
Following breakfast, students will have the opportunity to purchase a special gift for the important males in their lives, each student is asked to bring $5 for the Father’s Day stall.
We hope you can join us for this special morning of community, connection, and celebration.
2026 Students
Planning for the 2026 school year has begun. To assist with this process, if you know your child (in Grade Prep to 5) will be leaving St Kilian’s School at the end of the year, except the graduating Grade 6 class, could you please inform me via email or a letter of your intentions as soon as possible. By doing this, it will assist in organising staffing and class numbers for the 2026 school year. I thank you for your assistance, in advance, for the parents who this applies
