Principal's News

Good afternoon Families,
I hope you enjoyed the weekend. As we head into spring, we are experiencing the contrast in weather that Melbourne is renowned for. There was the joy of spring-like weather a week ago and the harsh cold winds just days later. Last week, before school, children rejoiced in a rainbow overhead; the beauty of nature.
Book Week
This Friday as part of our Book Week celebrations, students are encouraged to wear a costume of their favourite book. We encourage simple costumes that are borrowed or made from recycled materials. Parents are welcome to join the joy of the parade and the gallery walk afterwards. Maria has provided more details in Learning and Teaching section of this newsletter.
Production
This year’s production, ‘The Amazing Adventures of Superstan’ will be held on Wednesday 3 September at 7:00pm. All students P-6 are involved in the production. Our main cast members and crew are from senior classes but each class has a song to perform on the night. It is important that your children are in attendance. Tickets go on sale today. They are limited to two per family but should there be remaining tickets you will be advised and you may purchase remaining tickets for other family members. Andrea has outlined costume requirements for each Year level in 'School Production'.
Tickets for the production are $30.00 each. If the cost of tickets causes hardship for your family please see me to organise a ticket for you.
Hats
As we move towards spring UV levels are increasing. We ask that students bring their hats to schools tomorrow and we will advise when UV is 3 or above during break times. At this stage, this will include First Lunch tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday.
Outside School Hours Care
I have been consistent and persistent in my demands for improved services for our children and for you. Although there is progress, change has been significantly slower than anticipated. I have communicated with both MACS and MACSeye but my expectations of the essential features of an OSHC service appear not to be consistent with the provider. Should you wish to share your feedback with MACSeye you may do so here.
Have a wonderful week,
Christine
