Leadership in Action

Leadership Camp 2025

Brighton Secondary College’s Leadership Camp was once again a highlight of the school year, bringing together students from Years 7–12 for two days of learning, collaboration, and inspiration. Held at the Brighton Life Saving Club, the camp was centred around the themes “Step Up, Step Out” and “Lead Together, Succeed Together”, encouraging students to challenge themselves, build confidence, and strengthen their leadership skills.

Across the two days, students engaged in a dynamic mix of workshops and activities designed to foster teamwork, problem-solving, and communication. Highlights included the Amazing Race, which tested resilience and creativity through team challenges, and the Leadership Hot Seat, where students were put to the test answering big questions about leadership. Another favourite was the Coat of Arms activity, where groups reflected on their values and vision, designing symbols to represent their unique leadership identity.

Guest speakers added depth and perspective, sharing their personal experiences of leadership and inspiring students to think about the kind of leaders they aspire to become. With plenty of opportunities for discussion and reflection — not to mention delicious lunches to keep energy levels high — the camp was a memorable experience for all involved.

A heartfelt congratulations and thank you goes to our 2025 College Captain team – Madi Stewart, Malachy True, Mason Hancox, Andrew Widjaja, and Vanshika Thakkar – who played a leading role in organising and running the camp. Their enthusiasm and commitment ensured its success. Thanks also to the dedicated teachers, led by Liz Bolton, who supported in the planning and management across both days, as well as the Brighton Life Saving Club for hosting us.

With such strong participation and spirit, the future of leadership at BSC is looking brighter than ever.
