Silly Spelling Stories!
Mr Cow likes to drown himself in tomato sauce and is very renowned for this now. He slops it on with a trowel and then puts on his dressing gown. Everyone says 'Wow! Take a shower Mr Cow!' Mr Cow then says 'how?' With frowns on their faces, the crowd steps away. Probably because Mr Cow's brow was covered in chowder. Now the town doesn't allow the very renowned Mr Cow to bathe in sauce in his dressing gown.

Geography
We have been learning how all living things rely on nature to survive. From food, water, air, and shelter to everyday items like clothes, paper, and homes, the environment provides us with everything we need. We explored how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples have cared for Country for tens of thousands of years through sustainable practices that respect the land. Our learning has highlighted the importance of making wise choices like saving water, reducing waste, and protecting our surroundings so future generations can enjoy a healthy environment too.
We also investigated renewable and non-renewable resources. We compared coal, oil, and gas with cleaner options like solar, wind, and hydro power, learning how each impacts the planet. This led to rich discussions about sustainability and using resources carefully so they last into the future.
In our study of voices of the land and how people connect to environment, we discovered that people value environments for many reasons including farming, business, recreation, and culture. We learned how Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples hold deep cultural, spiritual, and custodial connections to Country, and how their knowledge teaches us sustainable ways to live in balance with nature. We also explored iconic places like Bondi Beach, Uluru, and the Great Barrier Reef, considering how different perspectives influence how people use and protect environments. This has shown us that the environment is not just useful it is also meaningful, connected to identity, and essential for our future.
Maths
We have been exploring how multiplication and division work. We've learned that swapping numbers in multiplication doesn’t change the total, and that doubling and halving can make calculations easier. We have been learning how division is sharing a total into equal parts, and we have seen how multiplication and division work as opposite operations. Through hands-on activities with arrays, bar models, and real-life examples, We are becoming more confident with their number facts and problem-solving skills.
We revisited shape translations with some tricky Tetris-style animal puzzles! We carefully cut out colourful Tetris pieces and worked hard to fit them into the outlines. At first, the puzzles looked easy with only 12 pieces, but we soon discovered there were lots of ways to arrange the shapes. We rotated, flipped, and slid pieces around, using problem-solving, spatial reasoning, trial and error, and perseverance to solve the puzzles.
