Snapshots from the week

M Block Courtyard Renovation!
On the last day of term, we officially opened the newly renovated M Block Courtyard, transformed by our Year 10 Work Experience students. A huge thank you to WRB for generously donating concrete sleepers to help make this upgrade possible and to Ms Lauren Tull, Head for Science, for organising this project.
We were thrilled to welcome General Manager Laura and Senior Project Manager Andy from WRB for the opening, and we celebrated with some snacks as our students showcased their hard work.
Your creativity, dedication, and teamwork have turned this courtyard into a space the whole school can enjoy – well done to everyone involved! 👏
School Captains reflect on Term 3
This week, the Year 12s reviewed their mock exam results and developed study strategies in preparation for the external exams next term. Congratulations on getting to this point, let’s bring it home strong!
The Student Leadership Team also launched the Week of Belonging—a celebratory week for the Class of 2025 before externals. This will take place in Week 3 next term, with a unique theme for each day: Movie Monday, Throwback Tuesday, Future You Day, Thankful Thursday, and Anything but a Bag Friday. The week is a legacy project that will incorporate compassionate reflection, conversations about the future, and a bit of fun, all while promoting the school value of belonging.
This week also saw the beginning of the annual Students vs Teachers competition, with basketball as the first sport. The thrilling game ended in a 16-all draw, setting the scene for an amazing competition in the coming weeks. The Class of 2025 will continue striving to regain the trophy from the teachers for the first time in thirteen years.
Finally, on Thursday, the School Captain team travelled to Parliament House for lunch with the local Member for Bulimba, Di Farmer MP. This meeting was an opportunity to reflect on the leadership team’s accomplishments in 2025 and to discuss aspirations for Balmoral’s future leaders.
A busy end to the term, with excitement building for a great end to the year!
Big shoutout to these First Nations students from Balmoral State High School who are taking part in the TRACTION program! We're so proud of their commitment to growth, wellbeing, and community engagement

What a showdown at second lunch today!
The annual clash finished in a thrilling 16–16 draw, with the teachers clawing back from 7 points down to level the game.
A big crowd of students turned up to cheer on both sides, creating an awesome atmosphere. Great fun, plenty of laughs, and another reminder of the spirit that makes our school community so special.
Happy days! 🙌
