Senior News - 4P Visit to St Mary’s College
After the excitement of 4H’s visit last week, it was 4P’s turn to head off to St Mary’s for a ‘Secondary School Experience’ - and they went with plenty of energy and anticipation!
The day kicked off in the Food Tech Lab, where students (and staff!) enjoyed making their own delicious morning tea pizzas. Safe to say, this session was a big hit.
Next up was a tour of the school, which included a peek at the gym and the pool. This sparked lots of chatter about what high school life might be like in just a few years’ time.
In the Science Labs, students donned official lab coats and discovered what Science and STEM lessons might look like in Year 7. They were captivated by the discussion about Bunsen burners and types of fire, before diving into hands-on biology and physics tasters. A highlight was experimenting with the electronics kits - making sirens wail and flying saucers spin when they completed their circuits.
Back at school, the students had so many positive things to say about their adventure. Comments like “I’m so excited for high school!” and “I can’t wait to go to St Mary’s!” summed up the experience perfectly.
A huge thank you to St Mary’s College for hosting two fun-filled, engaging, and educational days for our Year 4s. And yes—those pizzas really did taste as good as they looked!
