Australian History Competition
Each year St Pius X College History students from Year 7 to 10 participate in the Australian History Competition. This competition consists of 50 multiple choice questions based largely on historical sources related to the Stages 4 and 5 syllabuses. This year there have again been some outstanding results that reflect well on the work being done in History classrooms by the students and their dedicated, passionate History teachers.
The following high achievers were presented with their certificates at the College Assembly this week:

It’s a Wrap! Film Festival Prizegiving
On Wednesday morning our Lights Camera Pius! Film Festival prizewinners were presented with their Westfield voucher prizes and certificates. Congratulations to all the boys who submitted work this year. Their work reflected the unique voice and vision of our young creators.

First Prize (two equal prizes) Edward Moss, Year 11, 'The Knock Within'
Archie Turner, Year 11, 'The Missing Shoe'
Thanks to Mr Daniel Burton for the idea of a Student Choice award for all those who attended the festival. This year, by a large margin, the audience selected the ‘The Knock Within’ by Edward Moss. Ed received an additional prize and certificate.
Our very large Film Festival Committee members were also presented with their certificates, recognising their commitment and the hard work involved in creating a film festival.
