Bullying and Violence Prevention
In Week 7, our Year 5/6 students had the valuable opportunity to participate in a workshop with Neil Davis from the Sammy D Foundation. The session focused on violence and bullying prevention, including Sam’s Story, the consequences of violence and bullying, and practical strategies to help young people keep themselves and their friends safe.

International Day of Peace at Modbury School P-6
On 19th September, Modbury School P-6 came together to commemorate the International Day of Peace, which is recognised on Sunday 21st, a global observance dedicated to fostering harmony and understanding among all people and nations. This special day serves as a reminder of the importance of peace in our world and encourages us to reflect on the ways we can contribute to creating a more inclusive, respectful, and compassionate society.
To mark the occasion, we held a special assembly that centred around our school's Peace Pole, the 114th Peac Pole in Aus, a symbol of our commitment to promoting kindness, unity, and nonviolence in our community. The event featured heartfelt presentations from students and staff, inspiring messages about embracing diversity and resolving conflicts peacefully, and symbolic activities that underscored the values of respect and understanding.
The assembly provided a meaningful opportunity for all of us—students, teachers, and families—to support the ideals of peace and acknowledge the vital role each of us plays in building a positive and harmonious future. Through this event, Modbury School demonstrated its dedication to empowering students with the skills and values to make a difference in their communities and the wider world.
We thank everyone who participated in this inspiring celebration and look forward to continuing our journey toward creating a peaceful environment where every individual feels valued and included.
