From the Office

From our Acting Principal

As is often the case in Term 3, it feels like we just begun the term and already the school holidays are just around the corner. This term could best be described as the ‘Term of Events’ which can sometimes be challenging; however it has been pleasing to see our students enjoying our different excursions and events across the term whilst also balancing really getting into their learning in each classroom. We have a busy term next term as well with a number of camps, cluster events and school excursions taking place.

Hope & Action Sustainability Excursion – Last Wednesday our Senior Classroom joined students across Bendigo at the Hope & Action Sustainability Event at the Botanical Gardens in Bendigo. Involving sessions from Coliban Water, Weeroona College and The City of Greater Bendigo this was a thought-provoking excursion that challenged student’s ideas regarding waste use and how to care for the environment. Have a look later in the newsletter for some recounts from the kids.

Father’s Day Breakfast – Thank you to those in our school community who turned up on Friday morning to celebrate the Dad’s, Father’s and Special People that help support our little people each day. It’s great to be able to celebrate events like this at school and our students are always so proud to have their family come along with them. A big thanks to Jess, Bell and Hayden for putting this together in my absence.

Bring Your Wheels Day

On Friday we will be holding a Bring Your Wheels Day! This is a student-led activity which has been discussed by the kids for a little while. Students are able to bring along Their Wheels to use at school during Recess and Lunch time. This could be their bike, scooter, roller blades, rip stick etc. Please ensure your child is confident using the equipment they bring along and…. no motors please !

Campaspe Cluster Science Day

Next Wednesday will see us head over to Elmore Primary School to participate in the Campaspe Cluster’s yearly Science Day! Students will be placed into a group with students from across the cluster and rotate around activities led by teachers from the 6 schools. We will be travelling by bus and leaving school at 9am, returning for a normal end of day finish at 3.20pm. There will be no cost for this excursion and students will need to wear full school uniform and bring along their lunch, snacks and a drink bottle. Please ensure permission is provided on uEducateUs.

Last Day of Term 3 – Next Friday (19th) will be the last day of Term 3. School will finish an hour earlier at 2.20pm and the bus will run an hour earlier as well. To celebrate the end of term we will be having a Footy Colours Day. Students are welcome to come along dressed in the colours of their favourite team, Go Dee’s!

Thanks Everyone,

James Sait

Raywood PS Values Award

Values Award – Congratulations to Mia and Isabell for being recent recipients of our Raywood PS Values Award. Students receive this award for displaying either one or a combination of our school values; Respect, Responsibility and Resilience. We are finding it very challenging to select recipients of our Values Award each Friday at the moment which just goes to show how often our students display our core values. Well Done everyone!
