Travel Freeeeeeeee

From 1 Jan 2026, all children and young people aged 5 to 17 years will travel free on all public transport across Victoria.

To access free travel, children will need a Youth myki card. Families can register online and order a card for a one-off $5 fee, with the card sent directly to your home.

This initiative aims to make it easier for young people to get to school, activities and community events, while helping families with the cost of living.

What families need to do:

• Register online for a Youth myki
• Pay the $5 card fee

• Use the card for free travel from 1 January 2026
