eyes on VET

Welcome to another edition of Eyes on VET!

It is hard to believe that Term 3 has come to an end for the Year 12 VET and General students. I wish all students the very best for their future pathways and look forward to hearing of their achievements.

Year 11 VET students will be working hard next term to meet all the requirements of their courses at school, Workplace Learning and external courses. As some VET Connect students will have completed their external course by the end of Term 3, they will need to ensure that they have secured an extra work experience day for the remainder of Year 11.

Year 10 VET Connect students have been working through the Work Readiness program and are now at a point where they need to secure a work placement for 2025. Employer Placement Forms have been given to the students in class, and they need to be returned to the VET Office by Week 4 in Term 4. We should hear outcomes from our applications at TAFE early next term.

I wish all Year 10 and 11 VET Connect students a restful holiday and look forward to seeing you again in Term 4.

…Adam Elliman (Year 12 VET Connect), who completed a Certificate II in Supply Chain Operations through a School Based Traineeship with Reece Plumbing.

…Harley Barkla-Baylis (Year 12 VET Connect) for being offered a full-time apprenticeship at Banyard Electrical, where he completed two days per week over the past two years for Workplace Learning. Harley had an impeccable attendance record and an outstanding work ethic, so it is no surprise that his employer wanted to have him on their team permanently.

Please keep your "eyes on VET" in the next Parent Update.
