Bron Coffey - Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader

Hi families, I wanted to very quickly introduce myself and let you know more about me and my teaching experience to date.

My name is Bron Coffey and I live with my partner, Nathan, and my two recently adopted (cheeky) cats, Gus and Percy. I love to be fit and active and enjoy attending regular Reformer Pilates sessions (often with Miss Langley) at Gurri Wanyarra.

I have been lucky enough to work in a number of schools over my 26 years of teaching, including state schools, catholic schools and even an independent school in Townsville. I currently work 5 days a fortnight at Bridgewater PS and 4 days a fortnight at St Liborius PS. My role this year at Bridgewater is related to student and staff health and wellbeing. I will also be involved in running the Prep-6 specialist subjects (PE and ICT) and will take a role in supporting the Bridgewater PS Playgroup.

I am excited to be part of this beautiful small school community, and look forward to updating you in future newsletters on the initiatives happening in the ‘Wellbeing Space’ at school as the year continues.

Miss Coffey 😊

Megan Lynch - Student Wellbeing Worker

Hi Parents/Caregivers,

My name is Megan Lynch and I am excited to join the school community as your new Wellbeing Chaplain. I am looking forward to getting to know you all! I have previous experience working in wellbeing in both primary and secondary schools.

My role at the school is to support all students, staff and families by providing a listening ear, encouragement, and a safe space for conversations. I'm here to walk alongside everyone in their schooling journey and to help people find the support they need to overcome challenges and difficult times.

In the past, I have supported families and children who have experienced separation, behavioural concerns, social/emotional difficulties, low self-confidence and mental health issues.

When I'm not at school, I love swimming, exploring nature, water sports and my favourite food is salt and vinegar chips! Please feel free to stop by for a chat when you are at school!

I will be available at school on a Wednesday each week.

Megan.
