Principal Report

Mr. Lehane

Welcome to 2025!

I would like to warmly welcome everyone to a new school year. I am incredibly excited for what 2025 will bring for Bridgewater Primary School and the many opportunities we will provide for our students.

A special welcome to our new student, Sevi, and her family, who have already settled in beautifully. We are also thrilled to welcome new staff members to our team:

  • Miss Coffey, our Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader
  • Maddi Hart, Education Support in the Year 3–6 classroom
  • Megan Lynch, our new Student Wellbeing Chaplain

I am always happy for families to come and see me with ideas, questions, or concerns, and I hope to create a friendly and inviting culture where everyone—from students to parents and staff—feels welcome and valued.

We look forward to a fantastic year ahead, filled with learning, growth, and community spirit!

Carlton Visit

Carlton Players Visit Bridgewater!

On Tuesday, we had the pleasure of welcoming students from Inglewood Primary School and St. Mary's Inglewood to Bridgewater for a special visit from Carlton football players Sam Docherty, Zach Williams, and Hudson O’Keefe. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to meet the players, have a chat, and snap some great photos. We then headed outside to watch them in action as they kicked a few goals. Afterward, we all enjoyed lunch together and had a great time playing.

A huge thank you to St. Mary’s for supplying icy poles, which were very much appreciated on a warm day! We also want to extend our gratitude to Maddy Pieper from AFL Victoria for organising and supporting the visit, as well as to Miss Coffey for coordinating everything on behalf of Bridgewater Primary School.

We are also excited to announce that our school will be participating in the Carlton Respects program, with Carlton sending representatives to run an incursion at Bridgewater. Additionally, we will be running an AUSKICK clinic over the final five weeks of this term, giving our students and children from the wider Bridgewater community even more opportunities to develop their footy skills and have fun.

It was a wonderful day, and we loved hosting our visitors. Thank you to everyone who came along and made it so special!

Smile Squad Visit

Smile Squad six month fluoride varnish visit

The Bendigo Health Smile Squad team are heading back to our school to complete six-monthly fluoride varnish applications for those students who have provided consent. Fluoride varnish applications help make sure students have the best chance of preventing tooth decay, so we’re excited Smile Squad are coming back.

Consent for this fluoride varnish application was provided when students’ initial consent forms were returned. However, if anyone has changed their mind and do not wish to receive a fluoride varnish application, they can contact Bendigo Health directly to let them know. Please contact the Smile Squad team via:
