Presentation Night

The Presentation Night was a great success and we had some lovely comments from guests attending. Thanks to Mrs Huf for preparing the student items. As usual, the kids were amazing. Especially the marimba item!

Once again thank you to everyone who has helped the Cavendish Primary School in any way over the past year.  Your help and support is greatly appreciated by the staff and students.

Smile Squad

Clara and Claire from Smile Squad visited the school this week.  This is a great initiative to get free dental checks and treatments for students.  The students were all very brave!

Staffing confirmation for 2025

We are delighted to confirm the appointment of Miss Lee Johnson to the Year 2 & 3 classroom teaching role in 2024. Miss Johnson spent the day with the students during transition. She has also visited twice this week to begin planning with Miss Gray and I.

Miss Gray will teach Foundation/Year 1 and I cannot wait to spend the year with Year 4 & 6.

Our wonderful ES staff Barb, Chloe and Mel will continue to support staff and students, and Mrs Sue Bell will provide Literacy and Numeracy Intervention. Mrs Rachel Huf will continue to deliver our Music & Performing Arts program.

We currently have two part time positions advertised - a Kitchen Garden specialist role and a Languages Other Than English teacher. We hope that, by the end of the holiday break, we have appointments to both these roles.

Student Leadership 2025

Congratulations to our student  leaders for 2025:

School Captains: Emma Thomas and Pippa Quinn

Glenelg House Captains: Thomas Hurley and Jaxson Cross

Wannon House Captains: Cooper Leese and Sam Packman

The Arts and School Environment Captains: Ava Huf and Fiona Steele

We are so lucky to have such a strong cohort of young leaders for 2025.

At the start of Term 1, we will elect our Junior School Council so that we can begin to plan some fun!

Water Gun Fight

So much fun! Some serious soaking went on, and we had a great time doing it! As usual the kids participated in good spirits, taking care of one another and enjoying the moment. And luckily I turned around at just the right moment before Carly could cover me with a bucket of water! My ninja principal senses saved the day! Phew!

Best wishes for the Christmas Break

In closing, I wish everyone in our CPS Community all the best for Christmas and the New Year. Stay safe. Hold your family close, and enjoy this wonderful time of the year.

Students in Years 1-6 start on Wednesday 29th January, and we will welcome our Foundation students on Thursday 30th January.

Thank you for entrusting me with your wonderful school and beautiful children.

Let's make 2025 the best yet!
