Prep

With the last few days of school approaching us it is lovely to reflect on the growth and achievement our students have made this year. We are so proud of each and every Prep student and the special place they hold in our RHPS community.

The transition to Grade 1 went smoothly and they are bursting with excitement to continue their learning journey. We were so very proud of the mature way the Preps approached the transition morning and the kindness they showed getting to know their new classmates.

We have been learning how to write letters and wrote an end of year letter to our buddies. We have also made a special Christmas decoration to give to our buddies when we have lunch together next Monday.

We have made some beautiful Christmas crafts and hope you are enjoying these as they make their way home.

To help celebrate the end of year we enjoyed an incursion from the Flying Bookworm retelling some favourite Christmas stories. The three stories that we enjoyed were “The Night Before Christmas”, “Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer” and “A Christmas Carol”. Some of our Prep friends were even lucky enough to be chosen to act in the stories. They did a wonderful job taking on their characters and learning their lines.

We would love to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and thank you all for being such a wonderful part of our Prep family in 2024.

Best wishes,

The Prep Team

Grade 1 & 2

What an amazing few weeks we have had over this month. First, we enjoyed and showcased our beautiful singing voices with our dazzling dance moves at the carols. We then displayed and developed our resilience by visiting our new classrooms, teachers and new friends for 2025. All the grade 1 and 2 students should be very proud of themselves by experiencing new things and having a positive mindset.

Even with the busy time, we also enjoyed learning about script writing. We had the chance to plan, draft, edit, practice and performed all in one week. In Reading we enjoyed Pig the Fibber and explored the characters traits. In Maths we have been learning about area by creating a robot using grid paper to find the area of each robot part.

The fun does not stop there, here are some upcoming fun dates to be mindful of:

  • Monday 16th- buddy picnic for the Grade 1 students (BYO lunch)
  • Tuesday 17th- Park Picnic (BYO lunch)
  • Wednesday 18th- Christmas theme day- dress in Christmas casual free dress
  • Thursday 19th- Inflatable World
  • Friday 20th- Class Party

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year from our the Grade 1 and 2 team!

Grade 3 & 4

Hi Grade 3 & 4 families,

We can't believe it's nearly the end of the year already. We have had such a huge year of learning, growing and fun!

Most recently our STOMP dance classes have been great - we are so proud of all the students, as pretty much all of them are at least having a good go at all the choreography. Don't forget you can watch our performance of the STOMP dances at assembly on Friday!

This last week will be a big but exciting one with lots of activities planned. See the Compass and Newsletter information for details.

We are all getting tired and rightly so after 10 weeks. So please keep getting everyone to bed on time, eating breakfast and fuelling up on nutritious food to get us through to Friday with as little sickness as we can.

We are on track to finish the year with a bang and we are so incredibly proud of all the 3/4 students for a wonderful year of learning. We can't wait to see how they keep flying next year in Grades 4 and 5!

Have a very safe and happy Christmas.

Warm wishes from,

The 3/4 Team

Hayley Peirce, Sarah Jones, Damien Smith, Renée Barnden and Brent Smith
