Primary Schools Music Tour

On Monday 9th December, around 20 BHS music students from Years 7-9 performed at Roslyn PS, Highton PS and Belmont HS as part of our annual Primary Schools Music Tour. These students did a fabulous job promoting Belmont High’s music program. They were such a hit at Belmont PS, that they had the entire audience up and dancing along to the music! Thanks so much to Ms Emma Moffatt for preparing the band all term for this performance and to all the music team (Ms Humphrey, Ms Hunter and Ms Linton) for supporting and assisting with the event. Congratulations to all the students involved.

Year 7 Transition Performances

A massive thank you to this same tour band, who came into school the next day and performed for Grade 6 students throughout the whole day, beginning at 8.30am, performing instrument demonstrations periods 3 +4, then playing for the lunch crowd until 1.30pm. They thoroughly earnt their hot chip lunch! We are so lucky to have students willing to give up their day off to help make our new Year 7 students feel welcome at our school.

Year 7 Parent information Evening

Many thanks to Jazz Syndicate for performing at the Year 7 parent information evening last Tuesday, and to all senior students who came into school to rehearse for the Awards Evening performances last Friday, notably the three students who were fresh off the plane from Nepal!

Tuesday’s Awards Ceremony

Congratulations to all the music students who performed at Tuesday’s Awards Ceremony. Senior Band, Jazz Syndicate, The Trombone Ensemble and Heechan Hwang played at intervals throughout the ceremony, showcasing the variety of talents in our music program. Particular thanks to Rabhin O’Keife and Oscar Wood, two junior students who stepped up to the challenge of playing trumpet in the Senior Band at this event, doing a great job, and many thanks also to Emma Moffatt, Amanda Linton and Ashleigh Hunter who made sure students were able to take the stage in between receiving academic awards!

REMINDER: RE ENROLMENT!

Please ensure that you have completed a re-enrolment form for your child if they are continuing in the Ensemble Program in 2025.

This is important information for us, so that we can allocate instruments for 2025.

The re-enrolment form is available on Compass, in the School documentation tab.

Ensemble Program Fee Increase for 2025

To enable us to cover repair and equipment costs, we have increased  the Ensemble program fees for 2025.

Our Fees policy is available on Compass in the school documentation tab.

2025 Ensemble Program Fees

Thank you to all the musicians and teachers in our program for their weekly efforts in  Ensemble rehearsals and lesson groups, and of course for all the performances throughout the year!

You are the reason we all love coming to work each day in the BHS music program.

Safe and happy holidays everyone, and keep practising!
