Year 11 Business Management- Market Day
YEAR 11 BUSINESS MANAGEMENT - MARKET DAY
“On the 13th of November, both year 11 Business Management classes were given the task to run their own small businesses in small groups in the PAC at lunchtime. It was a very successful day with a large number of students coming in and buying all of the different varieties of food including: hot food, cookies, bags of lollies, slushies and all the groups selling out pretty quickly. There were also activities with prizes including: the spinning wheel, basketball ring throws and pull up / chin up challenge. At the end of the day we all put all our profits which was around $350 donated it to Geelong Food Relief which they will use the money to provide people in need with food and Christmas toys / presents. A huge thanks to Mr Caccamo and Ms Pugh for organising this wonderful event and assisting us in choosing the perfect charity to support people in our Geelong community”.

"The Year 11 Business Management classes recently hosted their Market Day during lunchtime in the PAC. Students showcased a diverse range of business ideas, each contributing a personal financial investment of $20 to kick-start their ventures. Impressively, all businesses generated a profit, allowing students to recover their initial investment. After returning their $20 contributions, the students decided to pool their remaining profits, which totalled $370. Combined with funds raised during the 2023 Market Day, which amounted to just over $130, the students achieved a combined total of $500. This year, inspired by their studies of social enterprise organisations, the students chose to donate the entire amount to Geelong Food Relief, a local organisation providing vital support to the community. The Market Day was a resounding success, with enthusiastic planning and execution by the students. The vibrant turnout of students and staff created a lively atmosphere, ensuring steady business and valuable real-world learning experiences for all students involved."
