2025 SCHOOL PRODUCTION

Cops ‘n’ Robbers 

We’re excited to announce that this year’s school production is an original script written by our very own students, Christian Arnott, Jayden Adcock, Akira Parker and Annie Robertson. 

Inspired by the various Student Voice and Agency opportunities these students have participated in throughout their time at Oberon they felt empowered to not only write the script, create both original and parody music but to direct as well. 

They have worked with staff for feedback, and we are incredibly proud of them and what they have achieved in the last couple of months. 

Cops ‘n’ Robbers is a musical performance about ‘getting the old gang back together’ to pull off one last heist. It involves betrayal, old friends, promotions, and the safety of a job as a police officer, versus the excitement and the thrill of life as a criminal. 

The protagonist, Elijah, retires from a life of crime, becoming a detective. Years later, his captain assigns him to a case regarding his very own criminal acts from his former life. Elijah is forced to make the choice between his friends or his job, and the stability that it provides him. What unfolds on stage is two hours of high action and entertaining singing and dancing to delight all audiences.

All students were invited to attend the information session during the week and much excitement has been generated throughout the school. 

Auditions will be held at lunchtime next week and Tuesday after school. 

Cops ‘n’ Robbers The Musical will be premiered at Belmont High School’s theatre on Friday 15th August with further performances on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th.
