Reading
This fortnight we read different Christmas theme stories. We watched some short Christmas films, looked at how authors used humour to engage their audience, compared stories using a Venn diagram and created an alternative ending to the short film.
Writing
Students wrote persuasive letters to Santa persuading him as to why he should deliver some of the gifts that they would like. Students also created their own Christmas picture storybook and followed the writing process of planning, drafting, editing, publishing and presenting over the last 2 weeks.
Maths:
Through our Daily Review program, students have been revising skip counting, partitioning numbers into their expanded form, ordering numbers, addition, and subtraction, solving multiplication programs using arrays, interpreting data from graphs and tables, transforming shapes and fractions. As we move through these slides, we are revising strategies that students can use to answer the questions and correct any misconceptions.
THANK YOU.....
Finally, we would like to thank all the students and parents for such a wonderful and successful year. We are all incredibly proud of the persistence, determination and resilience they have shown towards their learning this year.
On behalf of the Grade 2 team, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year. We look forward to seeing your familiar faces around the school next year!
