A well awaited event in the new year, our 2025 Year 12 Students received their senior jumpers on Friday 31st January.
A fantastic design this year, however the extra layer is most certainly not needed in the sunshine today!
Each year level celebrates the incredible daily demonstrations of our school values in exciting and unique ways. One long-standing tradition is the Year 7 Barrel, where teachers nominate students who exemplify these values. From the pool of nominations, random names are drawn, and those selected are invited to add their names to the barrel as a special recognition of their contributions.
In just the first 8 days of 2025, over 40 students were nominated—a truly astounding achievement! Every nomination is something to be extremely proud of.
This time, the two names drawn randomly were Amelia M. and Will A. Congratulations to all the nominees!
Congratulations to VET Music students Jet, Toby, and Spencer who have been selected to perform in the Top Class Music Showcase as part of the VCAA 2024 Season of Excellence annual festival.
Top Class Music presents concerts by outstanding VCE and VCE VET Music performance students from across Victoria, who have excelled in their examinations or composition tasks.
Jet, Toby and Spencer along with non-assessed performers Annabel and Holly (aka ‘Jade’) will take the stage at the Melbourne Recital centre in March.
We are thrilled to announce that Cadence W. has been selected for publication in Top Scribe 2025, as part of the prestigious VCE Season of Excellence.
Cadence's poem was inspired by Carol Ann Duffy’s poem ‘Circe' which she studied in VCE Literature. We are exceptionally proud of Cadence's achievement of being one of only 22 students selected for publication in what was a competitive and talented field of over 200 submissions.
Cadence's Top Scribe Literature success accompanies her outstanding 2024 VCE results including a study score of 47 in English, placing her in the top 2% of the state.
We look forward to joining Cadence at the Top Scribe Launch in Melbourne later this year and reading her future best sellers in the years to come.
Congratulations Cadence!
We are certainly celebrating an abundance of student achievements lately!
Congratulations to current year 11 student Gabriel B, who was awarded Best High School Film in Geelong Waterfront Film’s 48 Hour Film Frenzy for his short film ‘The Watchers’. The film was shown at The Pivotonian Cinema in Geelong. He won $500 cash prize and Black Magic editing software valued at $800.
Asher B, who graduated SCSC last year was invited to exhibit as part of Geelong Gallery’s annual Future Creatives exhibition for his artwork Self Portrait. The exhibition opens on 24 February for those interested in taking a look. An image of his work is attached.
Well done to these brothers, what amazing achievements!
