Grade Prep News

This term, the Preps have been learning all about writing letters and sending them in the mail. We have been reading exciting books such as The Jolly Postman and The Day the Crayons Quit to help us learn all about the different types of letters we send and receive.

The Prep teachers set up mini post offices in our classrooms, and the students have loved writing and sending letters to their friends, teachers, and class elves. The elves have been sending letters back too, all the way from the North Pole!

After learning all about how to write letters, it was time to write our own and send them. The students wrote a card to a special person at home, addressed the envelope, and stuck on a stamp. We then walked around the block to a post box to send them off. The children are very excited to receive these in the mail soon!

Last Thursday, we were even lucky enough to have a visit from a real Postman and his Australia Post van! Postman Jason taught us all about the different types of letters and parcels they deliver all over Australia.

We then got to climb into the Australia Post van and see just how big it was inside – enough to fit an entire Prep class!

The Prep Team would like to give a huge thank you to Paula, one of our Integration Aides, for organising the very special Postman visit for us!
