Wattle Street Bridge closure in 2025
The City of Greater Bendigo is undertaking a $1.4 million project to repair the Wattle Street Bridge across the Bendigo Creek. The work will focus on repairing the bridge's damaged southern barrier, with the historic structure requiring extensive strengthening to support the installation of modern barriers. The work will also include the installation of a new, separated pedestrian path, which will allow pedestrians to cross the creek.
This project will require the full closure of the bridge and a partial road closure at the intersection of Wattle Street and Creek Street South, with work expected to commence in late January 2025 and be completed by June 2025. As illustrated in the below image, during the works, parents and carers wishing to drop off or pick up students at any of the Senior School entrance points along Wattle Street will need to access Wattle Street via High Street or Creek Street North
