Welcome to the 2025 school year. I am very excited to be taking on the role of Acting Religious Education Coordinator at Catherine McAuley. I welcome all new families to our McAuley community and look forward to seeing you at many of our community events throughout 2025.
This year is exciting as we celebrate the Year of Jubilee for the Catholic Church. Pope Francis has called this Jubilee Year "Pilgrims of Hope", inviting us to renew our hope in the love God has for us, no matter who we are. The Jubilee is a year-long, grace-filled celebration, inviting us to reflect on our faith, renew our commitment to God, and experience boundless mercy. Celebrated every 25 years, the Jubilee holds profound spiritual, ecclesial, and social significance, offering a unique opportunity for all God’s people – each and every person – to strengthen their faith and share and shape hope in the world.
On Sunday the 2nd of February, members of our Student Leadership Team attended the annual Candlemas at St. Mary’s Church where all of our school candles were blessed. We are reminded through this Mass that Jesus is the light, leading us throughout our days.
