20th Dec 2024

Dear Parents,

It is truly amazing to reflect on how far we've come as we approach the end of 2024! This year has been filled with learning, growth, and joyful moments. I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt thanks to our incredible staff for their unwavering dedication to our students. I hope they all enjoy a well-deserved and relaxing holiday.

In 2024, our staff organised and led memorable excursions to Scienceworks, Sovereign Hill, the Immigration Museum, Bundoora Park, and Rippon Lee. We also enjoyed exciting incursions such as Mad About Science, Life-Ed, History Box, Orienteering, and Dance. Our students took part in swimming lessons, interschool sports, the Prep Breakfast, the Year 1 Disco, the Year 2 Sleepover, and the Years 3-6 camps. Game Day, Fly High Night, and the Colour Run were fantastic events that marked the start and end of the year. A special thank you goes to the SCA for their invaluable contributions to these events, including the Colour Run, the Mother, Father, and Special Person Day Stalls, Footy Day, and special lunch days. These activities have created lasting memories for our students.

The learning growth we've seen in our students this year has been the best we've ever had, and we are excited to continue supporting their development in the years ahead. A big thank you to our team for ensuring that student reports were sent out to families yesterday. Please remember to download and save your digital copies of the reports, as the Compass App will not retain them indefinitely, especially as your child progresses to high school.

As we look ahead, the Department of Education has published helpful resources to assist you in preparing for the 2025 school year. These resources offer valuable tips for transitioning from kinder to Prep, as well as from primary to secondary school. They also include guidance on what to expect, managing school costs, and supporting children's mental health and wellbeing. I encourage you to review these resources over the holiday break. You can find them on the New Year of Learning webpage. New Year of Learning

Congratulations to our new school Captains for 2025: Eva Mastilovic, Ayda Huseyin, Seydi Cevik, and Chris Kwak. We look forward to seeing you thrive in your new roles. A big thank you to our 2024 Captains, Jay Harris, Elyna Bunil, and Henrik Happy, for their outstanding leadership this year.

This afternoon, we bid farewell to our Year 6 class and wish them all the best for the future. We are excited about your next steps and look forward to hearing about your transition into Year 7.

I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas if you celebrate, and if not, I hope you enjoy a relaxing holiday with loved ones. It has been an absolute joy to serve as your Principal this year. I look forward to welcoming everyone back on Thursday, 30th January 2025, for Years 1-6 students, and on Thursday, 6th February from 9 am to 1 pm for our Prep students.

Thank you all for a wonderful year.

Warm regards,

Loren Peavey
