Learning at St Columba's

Start to the year
As we settle into the school year, our students build strong foundations for a successful learning journey. Through the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) elements, they are developing the skills, knowledge, and attitudes needed to become inquirers, thinkers, and communicators. Establishing routines in the classroom helps students feel confident and ready to engage in meaningful learning experiences each day.
Connecting with peers and teachers is an essential part of this journey. Through collaboration, discussion, and reflection, students learn to express their ideas, listen to others, and build a sense of belonging in their learning environment. These relationships create a supportive space where curiosity is nurtured, and new understandings are explored.
Our students grow as independent, motivated learners by developing consistent routines, embracing challenges, and working together. We look forward to seeing them continue to build their agency, take ownership of their learning, and demonstrate the attributes of the IB Learner Profile throughout the year.
