Music with Emily
Term 4, 2024
In music, students have been working towards our upcoming music performance called
Play & Sing
Prep/1 students have had so much fun bringing the book A lion in the night by Pamela Allen to life with sound effects and storytelling performance skills.
1/2 students will demonstrate new xylophone skills, including bouncing and clicking the mallets, with a piece called Click Sticks.
The 3/4 class have been learning bass lines, harmony lines and rhythmic ostinatos on the xylophone instruments and will accompany the P-2 students with an exciting performance of The Annual Thing.
The 4/5 class have been learning to play ukuleles and percussion instruments and will strum and beat along to a special collaborative performance of Antigravity.
Students in 5/6 will also be performing in Antigravity on xylophones, piano, and some wind instruments. This piece has lyrics composed by students and a melody line that is guaranteed to be floating around in your head for days to come!
The whole school has been learning the actions and words to Dum dum ditty ditty and are preparing to wow you with their coordination and collaboration.
We are all looking forward to some productive rehearsals over the next two weeks and then sharing with families what we have been doing in the music room.
Choir visited Lakeview Childrens Services today. Our students, along with Emily worked with the kinder children to teach them a song with some actions.
On Thursday 12th December, our Choir will be visiting the residents at Kiewa Valley House, from10am, to sing some Christmas Carols.
Carrying on the Christmas celebrations, our School Choir, along with the Spookie Ukies have been invited to be apart of the Mount Beauty Carols By Candlelight night. This is held outside the Jessie Hollands Building, next to the Secondary College. Students are busy rehearsing their songs and are sounding very festive. We hope you can come along to join in the singing.
