Mr Shaun McClare
We acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin nation; past, present and those who will walk with us into the future.
We acknowledge the rich and unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas, educational practices and the hopes of all First Nations Peoples. We do this in the spirit of reconciliation as we move to a place of justice and partnership - together we work, learn, play and care for one another and this land.
This year we held a Grade 2 Day Camp for the first time ever and it was a great success. I was very lucky to be able to attend alongside all of the students and the Year 2 teachers.
It was held at Log Cabin Ranch in Monbulk and it was so much fun. Everyone arrived bright and early last Tuesday morning and we caught the bus to camp.
Students got to enjoy 6 different activities including Archery, Go Carts, Mini Golf, Sensory Trail, Giant Games and a Camp Find. In the afternoon they had a fabulous time doing group games and a disco.
A big highlight of the day was the delicious dinner of spaghetti bolognaise and it was enjoyed by everyone.
A massive thank you to Mrs Brooks for organising the day. Grade 2 Day camp will definitely be an annual event and something our students can look forward to.
Last Friday we held our first Transtion session for our 2024 Foundation students. We were so proud of how well all of the students participated in the classroom activities and are looking forward to having them all here again next week.
A huge thank you to all of the Yr 6 helpers we had. You did a great job in representing the kind, caring nature of Kalinda and making sure all of our new students were well looked after.
Thank you very much to the Parents and Friends Association, Staff and Volunteers for your wonderful work on the Referendum Day BBQ. We are looking forward to putting this and other fundraising towards upgrading our playgrounds.
For all the families who utilise Theircare, we would like to let you know that we will have a new coordinator, Manmeet, beginning on the 30th October. We welcome Manmeet to our school and look forward to working with you to provide great out of school hours care for all of our students.
