Foundation and Year 1/2

Practise! Practise! Practise!

The Foundation and Year 1/2 students have been busy building upon their performing arts skills and practising their performances for our upcoming concert, The Greatest Show!

During their sessions, the students have learnt about the importance of smiling to the audience, showcasing big dance moves, being in time with each other and the music, being patient, being resilient and simply having fun!

Holiday Writing

Beating the Ender Dragon By Sai

On the holidays me and my friends tried to fight the Ender Dragon.

We streamed the game for 8 hours, I went to the nether to get blaze rods and ender pearls. One of the buried treasures I found had 3 diamonds and 4 emeralds. I finally found the stronghold and filled the eye of enders and teleported to the end city. The Ender Dragon was low on damage so I decided to blow it up with TNT. I beat the Ender Dragon with beads, TNT and crossbows. My friends really appreciated it.

As the smooth sand touched my feet, it was very comfortable and it was a great feeling, an indescribable feeling. I took another step and landed in the water and it was refreshing after standing in the scorching sun for hours. As the slow and peaceful waves met my body, it was cold and somewhat hot at the same time. It was a very relaxing moment. Amazing right?

The Giant Swings By Jasmine

Last Thursday Lauren's parents took us to the Melbourne Show. The ride that Lauren and I went on was the swings. It was like going on a swing but 10 times the normal height of a swing. When we went on the swings I was nervous but excited at the same time. As the ride started it went around once then kept going faster and faster and as it went faster it swung outwards and higher and higher each time. When it went too high I couldn't help but scream {but a joyful scream}. It was awesome!!!

“Ahhhhh!” Before I knew it, I was SOAKING wet! Katelin, Laura and I were filling up the GIANT water balloons! “SPLASH!” Now EVERYONE was soaking wet! We tried to run away from each other, but my backyard is just TOO SMALL! Laura and I were against Katelin. After a few SPRAYS and POPS, the results were finally in… and Isabella and Laura are the WINNERS! We were FREEZING COLD, But it was a FANTASTIC time even if we were soaked!

The Plane By Veer

When I was on the plane, I felt kind of nervous plus I was already jetlagged, because 30 mins ago, I was on another flight!. The only kind of entertainment was a ‘10×9’ Inch TV. But after a while the pilot finally announced we were in Melbourne. After all, it was a good flight.

Homework By Azariah

One thing I did on my holiday was homework, the homework was not really a lot of homework as I finished it in an hour and thirty minutes. During my homework time I got some gooey gummies, they were multicolored and I had lots of gummies. Once I was finished I was super tired so I got some sleep.

When I went to the Sydney Opera House I got some delicious ice cream. I looked at the Sydney harbor, I nearly dropped my ice cream. I had to take a photo, it was stunning and beautiful. It was the best day in Sydney.

The Big Swing By Gail

BEEP BEEP BEEP! All of a sudden I was ascending into the sky on a gigantic SWING! In fact it was like 20 meters up in the AIR! I thought it couldn't have gotten any worse and then the swing started rotating 360 degrees. It went round and round for 10 mins. I heard other people cheering so I decided to cheer myself. But soon it was done and I wanted to go again!

Year 5/6

Wow! Its not every day you receive a letter from your all time favourite author! That's just what happened to our Year 5 student, Roery Villegas, who this week received a letter from the Treehouse Giant of children's literature, Andy Griffiths.

WellBeing

Following on from our unit of work last term, the students have been investigating seeking help when faced with problems, either on their own, with a friend or a trusted adult. Part of this looks at the notions of trust and courage. The students worked in pairs, one of them blindfolded, being led around while the partner was guiding them. The students faced their own fears and spoke about how you need courage to ask someone for help. You also need trust. "I trusted Yash because he is a great friend of mine and I know that he cares about me" Rahim, Year 6
