Sport News
It has been an extremely busy start to the term in interschool sport.
After playing regional teeball finals at the end of last term we have come back to Division Athletics, District volleyball, District basketball, Division volleyball and Years 3-6 swimming lessons starting next week, all in the first 3 weeks!
Division Athletics
Unfortunately it was a cold and wet day for our 10 students who qualified for the Division Athletics. Congratulations to all students for making it to this level!
First and second place getters go through to the Regional finals. Well done to Billy and Marcus who both finished 4th in their events, the 9/10 y.o shot put and the 10 y.o high jump respectively. Congratulations to Sonia who came 2nd in her 12 y.o long jump event to qualify for the Regional finals next Thursday 19th October!
We wish her luck!
District Volleyball
Our open volleyball team deservedly won the District round robin day, finishing up being undefeated. They have since won the Division volleyball final to go on to the Regional finals on Tuesday 31st October. Congratulations to Nash, Dan, Gabe, Sonia, Mack, James and Marcus, they are reaping the benefits of all their hard work.
Go Warrandyte!
Thank you to Brigitte, Kim and Nat for supporting and transporting students to their venues.
District Basketball
Our District basketball team competed on Wednesday at Bulleen stadium in a round robin competition against the 6 other schools in the Templestowe District. Even though they didn’t win any games they were competitive and enjoyed the experience. Thank you to Maddy and Deanna for coaching/scoring and transporting students.
Futsal clinics
Our 3-6 students were lucky enough to have Gui come in on Wednesday to run futsal (indoor soccer) clinics. All students obviously enjoyed learning a new sport and were offered the opportunity to come to Templestowe, where Gui coaches, for a further free clinic.
