From the Principal

Hello

The year is slipping by and I'm enjoying my time back at school after 4 weeks of work at Glenroi Heights PS with Principal Tegan Davis. Thanks to Ms Pritchard and Mrs Hudson for running the school so well in my absence.

As you will be aware, the Disability Royal Commission has been released with some unpalatable recommendations including closing schools like ours. You will agree with me I'm sure, that our school is a haven for your children and an essential part of the Department of Education's suite of options when you are choosing where to send your child for their best education. Our specialist setting offers huge opportunities and support for all students and I know you will be vocal with me in supporting the continued use of Special Schools as one option for supporting students with disabilities.

Year 12 have completed their academic year and reports will be out soon. They are enjoying their community outings and connections with post-school options. A huge thank you to Ms Cox, Mrs Hodder, Mr Low and the stage 6 staff for everything they are doing to support Year 12.

Welcome to new staff Corrina Pearce Executive Assistant, Brooke O'Brien Teacher Admin Officer, Xanthe Keegan and Mel McHatton, School Learning Support Officers.

We have a busy term ahead with Grandparent's Day next Tuesday, presentation day, graduation, and Orange Ex-Service's 41st Christmas party.

Enjoy the warm weather.
