Our Primary students are buzzing with enthusiasm as they dive headfirst into the preparations for their Term 4 competitions. This Term promises to be action-packed and full of opportunities to have fun and showcase their skills and sportsmanship.

 

Andrews Cup | Gymnastics and Basketball

Our budding gymnasts and basketball stars are hard at work, perfecting their routines and sharpening their skills. From graceful flips on the mats to slam dunks on the court, our young athletes are dedicated to their preparation. 

 

Britton Shield | Aquathlon and Basketball

The excitement does not stop with the Andrews Cup. Our boys are also gearing up for the final Britton Shield competitions. Aquathlon enthusiasts are hitting the pool and the oval, preparing to make a splash at the event. Meanwhile, our basketball enthusiasts are dribbling, shooting and working on their skills for the upcoming competition.

Secondary Sport 

Celebrating a triumphant end to Term 3 with a QGSSSA Track and Field victory! 

As the curtains drew on another thrilling Term at Clayfield College, the campus was abuzz with excitement and pride, for the school's Track and Field team after claiming the Del Mellefont Trophy – Percentage at the QGSSSA Championships. This remarkable win marked the third percentage cup victory for the College in a single year, a testament to the dedication, talent, and hard work of our student athletes. 

 

The QGSSSA Track and Field Championships is renowned for its fierce competition and high standards, making Clayfield College's achievement more impressive. Our athletes demonstrated their prowess in a wide range of disciplines, displaying notable progress throughout the season.  

 

Among the standout performances, Mia Geere showcased her incredible talent by securing a well-deserved 3rd place in the 15 years High Jump. Sharie Rainbow in the 16 years category, lived up to her reputation, claiming 3rd place in High Jump and Discus, Division A. Isabella McDonnell-Baum was another star of the day, earning a podium finish with her 3rd place in the 17 Years 100m Division D, and an impressive 4th place in the 17+ Long Jump, Division A. Allegra Pollack further contributed to our points, securing 3rd place in the 17 years+ Javelin, Division A. Chloe Noon emerged as a true standout, showcasing her incredible versatility by competing in all three middle-distance in a single day. Her unwavering determination and capacity to excel under pressure proved invaluable as she secured 6th place in the gruelling 3000m, 5th in the demanding 1500m, and 4th in the highly competitive 800m races.

 

What makes this victory even more special is the collective effort and dedication displayed by all of our athletes. The commitment to constant improvement was evident throughout the season as Clayfield College improved by an impressive 41 points from the previous year's performance, showcasing the exceptional progress our students have made in the Athletics program.

 

The success of Clayfield College at the 2023 QGSSSA Track and Field Championships is a testament to the unwavering support of our dedicated coaches and the outstanding work ethic of our athletes throughout the season. As we reflect on this remarkable achievement, we can not help but feel immensely proud of our athletes. They have established a lofty benchmark for the years ahead, and we eagerly anticipate the 2024 season. 

 

I would like to personally congratulate every student who took part in the QGSSSA athletics season. Numerous personal bests were attained, new skills were acquired, and positive moments were shared. Your involvement in the QG Athletics season is greatly appreciated as you all know it is a collective effort. I am immensely proud of your dedication, sportsmanship and accomplishments.

A heartfelt thanks is extended to our exceptional coaches for their invaluable guidance of the girls throughout the season, and also to all parents for their unwavering support and encouragement of your daughters' participation in athletics.

2023 Sports Celebration Dinner

The 2023 Sports Celebration Dinner provides an opportunity to showcase a sample of the endowed young sporting men and women that are found at Clayfield College. We warmly invite all students and their families who have participated in sports throughout 2023 to come together and commemorate the past year of sporting endeavour. 

 

The Sports Celebration evening, will emphasise students profound love for sport and how this passion has forged countless dreams, brought students together, and instilled a shared sense of purpose. We are thrilled to recognise the exceptional achievements of the many young individuals who have excelled in the diverse array of sporting opportunities offered here at Clayfield College. Secure your tickets now and prepare for an unforgettable evening of honouring the spirit of CC sport.
